Masterclass with Leigh Singer

On Monday 22 March at 7pm we invite our Students to a masterclass and Q&A with Leigh Singer - journalist, filmmaker, screenwriter and programme advisor of the London Film Festival. The meeting will be held on YouTube.

 

 

Leigh Singer is a film journalist, video essayist and programmer. He has written extensively for UK broadsheet newspapers (Guardian, Independent, Times), film & lifestyle magazines (Sight & Sound, Empire, Total Film, Little White Lies, Dazed & Confused, The Big Issue) and websites (Channel 4, BBCi, BFI online).

 

As a video essayist, he has written, produced and edited around 100 audiovisual pieces for outlets including Sight & Sound, Little White Lies, Indiewire, Fandor, RogerEbert.com and for commercial and DVD / Blu-ray release. His work is regularly used in academic studies worldwide and featured on Sight & Sound’s Best Video Essays of the Year polls. He also runs a module on video essays for the MA in Film Studies, Programming & Curation at the UK’s National Film & Television School and mentors video work at the Polish-Japanese Institute of Technology in Warsaw.

 

As a programmer, he has been a Programme Advisor for the London Film Festival since 2014, specialising on the festival Laugh strand as well wider programming, and has hosted over 100 filmmaker Q&As and special events. He is the features programmer for LOCO, the London Comedy Film Festival.
