Another batch of festival news, this time from Radom and Sopot!

On July 9th, the Freedom Film Festival will kick off as part of the Kameralne Lato festival in Radom. This event celebrates freedom, featuring stories about people fighting for it in every area of life. Which Warsaw Film School titles will you watch in Radom?

In the Polish competition, we will be showing:
  • "Son of Happiness”, directed by Dominik Mirecki - a film made as part of the postgraduate directing studies at WSF, invited to compete in the prestigious Future Frames competition at the Karlovy Vary Festival.
  • "The Tour Guide", directed by Katarzyna Bojkowska - this film will represent Poland at the 2025 UNICA International Festival in Birmingham, organized by UNESCO.

In the international competition, there are:
  • “I Gaze at the Sky”, directed by Alexandra Strunin - the film premiered last month at the Koszalin Debut Film Festival  and an interview with the director can be found on the Wysokie Obcasy website.
  • “Qaher”, directed by Nada Khalifa - created by the Palestinian director as a diploma film in our international directing and cinematography program, it premiered at this year’s Krakow Film Festival, with its first international screening at the Cinema Jove International Film Festival in Valencia.

We invite you to Radom! Be sure to watch the interviews with the filmmakers on our YouTube channel before the screenings.

The Sopot Film Festival has also begun, featuring three of our films in its lineup:
  • "Rouge" / "Red", directed by Sophie Horry - a film known from last year’s Gdynia festival and award-winning in Koszalin made by our French graduate.
  • “The Rest of Our Life”, directed by Filip Tomczak - a delicate story recognized with selection for this year’s LGBT+ Film Festival.
  • "Here for you", directed by Cezary Orłowski - a story of love without borders that has already won the hearts of audiences at many Polish and international festivals.
Look out for us in the short films competition schedule!

In addition, tomorrow we will present a special program celebrating 20 years of the Warsaw Film School - masterful short films:
  • "My Old Gals", directed by Natasza Parzymies
  • "Neverlandex", directed by Agata Kapuścińska
  • "Here for you", directed by Cezary Orłowski
  • "Mine", directed by Kaja Sajdak
