More awards for our films!
This month, WFS productions have received a total of 14 awards and distinctions at both Polish and international festivals! We’ve already mentioned Offeliada - so where else have our films been recognized?
Dominik Mirecki received the Best Debut Award at the Ann Arbor Polish Film Festival in the United States! He attended with his film made during the WSF postgraduate directing program, “Son of Happiness”, which was previously presented at festivals including Karlovy Vary. The organizers of Ann Arbor Polish FF, a wonderful Polish-American festival, invited Dominik to personally receive his statuette. Congratulations!
“Qaher” directed by Nada Khalifa received:
- Special Mention at the 11th CONTACT International Student Film Festival in Turkey
- Best International Student Editing Award and Best International Student Screenplay Award at the Thessaloniki Free Short Film Festival in Greece
At the Thessaloniki Free Short Film Festival, the film "First Last Month” directed by Elena Vatamanu-Mărgineanu was also recognized. Acting awards went to:
- Tatiana Lazăr – Best International Supporting Actress Award
- Victor Triboi – Best International Supporting Actor Award
The lead actress in “I Gaze at the Sky” directed by Alexandra Strunin, Wiktoria Gorodeckaja, was also awarded for her performance. She received statuettes at:
- Women and the World Film Festival in London – Best Performance
- Montecatini International Short Film Festival in Italy – Best Actress
